Community ActivitiesBurragunyah is located between the small village of Tatong and the even smaller hamlet of Molyullah. The main claim to fame for Tatong is its great "Aussie" Tudor style building which houses the Tatong Tavern - very handy for a meal with friends or even a cold drink and catch up after the day's work.

Molyullah (meaning the foothills) is located in a valley about 15 minutes from Benalla. It is renown for the annual Molyullah Easter Sports which has been running for some 118 years. The Sports are held on Easter Monday each year and it is a family oriented fun day with horse events; plant stall; country style lunches/morning and afternoon teas; children's races and novelty events, lucky spinning wheel, face painting etc. etc. Communities in both areas are very committed to supporting the local area in all sorts of ways - be it fundraising, caring for those in need, or just creating a wonderful, pleasant environment for both locals and visitors alike.
Tourism
Burragunyah is also well positioned for many tourist attractions. Mt Buller (about an hour and half to the summit) has great skiing during the winter months and mountain biking during the summer. Milawa is about 40 minutes away and a great scenic drive to then indulge in wines, cheeses, olives and much more before driving down the beautiful King Valley to purchase and partake further. Wangaratta is also about 40 minutes and every November hosts a huge and world renown Jazz festival. Winton Raceway is about 20 minutes away and holds car events most weekends - from vintage vehicle events to the Super 8's. Benalla is our most local city being just 25 minutes from home. It is known for its lovely gardens and lake, amazing street art displays, and is the home of Gliding in Australia. Swanpool cinema, which is a 1950's style movie house showing current and alternative films and also hosts the 'Bald Archy's', is just 20 minutes away.
For more local activities there is always farm work to be done; bush-walking, especially in October and November when you can see the beautiful native wildflowers; photography, horse-riding, hunting; collecting firewood etc. We love working on the farm and keep finding spots with lovely views and forever make the comment, "This would be a great spot to build."
